About this board
Half Ton Pickup Forum opened in August 2025 for people who own an F-150, a Silverado or Sierra 1500, a Ram 1500, a Tundra or a Titan and want an answer from somebody who has had the same truck apart. The big truck sites are fine, but a 3.5 EcoBoost question there sits between a Power Stroke thread and somebody's lifted Jeep. Here it is only half tons.
It is run by Eric S., who goes by mod_eric_s on the boards. He ran the shop for a county highway department out of Alexandria, Minnesota for 22 years, retired in 2024, and keeps a 2020 F-150 and a 2004 Silverado he says he will not sell. He reads the contact mailbox himself, a couple of times a week, slower during deer season.
How the question board works
Every thread is a question. Replies are answers. The person who asked marks the one that fixed it and that answer gets the green box, both in the thread and on the list. If the person who asked goes quiet for two weeks and one answer clearly did the job, a mod marks it and says so in the thread. Reports and write-ups that are not really questions are allowed in the buying board and show as discussions.
Who pays for it
House rules
- Year, engine and mileage in every question. A 2016 3.5 and a 2022 3.5 are different engines.
- Say what you paid. Buying reports and repair stories without a number get a mod note asking for one.
- No selling in threads and no classifieds board. Link a public listing if it helps answer a question.
- If you work at a dealer, an auction, a broker or a shop, say so in the post. Advice from a tech is welcome, advice from a salesman pretending to be a customer gets pulled.
- Mods move posts that wander off the question and leave a note saying where they went. Nothing is deleted for being off topic.
- Accounts are handed out by email while the bots are bad. Ask through the contact page.
What this is not
Not a shop, not a dealer, not a lawyer, and not the service manual. Torque specs, fluid specs and warranty terms in an answer are somebody's memory of their own truck. Check them against the book for your VIN before you spend money.
